The Black Trench

Photography by Rui Ferreira

Well, guys, here you have today's look.
I went back to my old trench coat! Cannot believe that I have this coat for like 6 years, or so. It was a gift but back then I didn't care about it too much. But now, and with this trench fever going around, I had to pull it back from the ends of my closet and give it another try. It has a perfect fit, no loose parts, the belt accentuates your silhouette and it's black! Will go perfect with everything.
I so love my jeans right now. I've had them for quite some time and I decided to jazz them up a little bit by cutting them at ankle size and the knees. It gave a edgy touch to a classic look.

And I'm thinking on trying an old trench coat that my mom has (somewhere around the house) which has a super cut and color. It is from the 80's so yeah, super retro! And it's a bit over-sized, so I gotta be careful and not make a clown out of myself wearing that.

After seeing this photos, and after talking with my boyfriend about it, I'm starting having HUGE, MAJOR hair issues again. Since it is very visible the copper color of my last dye on my hair (and the roots are starting to get bigger now) I'm think on cutting my hair. Pixie style! To let all that copper go way for good! I've wore pixie style for some time and its the best, fresh, edgy and ready-to-go-out hair you can have. But this time my fringe have to be a bit bigger - nose size, maybe. I still gonna think it over, 'cause once I cut it off there's no return. And I cannot forget that the feminine touch must always be there, otherwise I will look like a dude. Gotta do my research on styles and cuts to see what can I do - or not do - to my hair. And when Summer comes, the thing that mostly gets on my nerves is the hair getting stuck to your forehead due to sweet. EW! No way.

Have a warm night!

Love,
Maria

Boots & Neutrals

SHOP THE LOOK
1 - 2 - 3  - 4

Well, it's raining non-stop since 7 a.m. of this morning so with that sad it's impossible to take any photos today. Really bad weather on this side of Europe, guys. Super winds, rain and thunder... Looks like Winter is back. And with that, my boots. I'm going for a casual outfit today with my H&M Men sweater - one of my favorite pieces and everyone should have one in their closet - a basic black cotton shirt, fitted jeans and ankle leather boots with buckles.

Love to you,
Maria

During March...

Hello there, sweeties!
It's April! The 4th month out of 12. Time is flying so fast...
Here is a recap of what I wore during last month, and you can see through the photos how the clothes change along with the weather. Started the month with light pieces and t-shirt and went back to knits, turtlenecks and coats... This "don't-know-what-to-wear" weather is a sh*t. It's raining in one day and sun and warm in the other.

Have a favorite? Which is your favorite piece? (:
Let me know!

Lots of love,
Maria

Postcards from the Mountain

Happy Sunday, guys!

A Sunday spent at home working on a personal project and wishing it all goes well once it's ready to be presented. Good things come to those who work their asses off, am I right?

Today I want to share with you some photos I took when we went on a road-trip to the north/center of our country, more precisely Serra da Estrela, earlier this month. It's a huge difference in terms of Architecture and weather - much darker and cold, but so so green. Beautiful! My eyes were stuck to the car window - when I wasn't sleeping.
It was a weekend off with my boyfriend's family and my sister-in-law's boyfriend, just to relax and enjoying ourselves. I was sick as hell during those two days, I barely could speak and sometimes I thought I would cough my lungs out (ew, but truth!). Actually I got sick the day before (which was the day I delivered my thesis. Crappy immune system!!). Damn luck! Still I went with them with as much warmer clothes as I could lay my hands on, beanie, the warmest knit scarf I could find, and my brothers huge Deeply jacket - he doesn't wear it anymore so I saw an opportunity and took it, hehe - which kept me warm and cozy during that weekend.

We stayed at a rural place that has been converted into Rural Tourism. Rustic outside, modern inside (click here to see more photo of the place)! Amazing restoration of the buildings by keeping the original structure - old church and their buildings turned into rooms, small apartments, restaurant, there was also a place for a pool side and coffee shop. Natural ingredients, delicious food, great environment and amazing people. Surrounded by beautiful nature, animals and silence. Just the perfect place for a getaway, even with grey skies and rain.

I had so much fun on the snow...! I could barely breath due to laughing so much and stay put on my two feet 'cause of the amount of snow. So cool... I had a blast! Seeing my father-in-law sliding around like a kid was the best, for sure!

And the result of this trip was staying home, in bed for the next four days, killing the f* flu. Oh well, but it was worth it. Cannot wait for the next time!

I hope you like the photos (:

Lots of Love,
Maria

Me, goofing around and trying not to fall into the freezing water, haha! I look like a boy...
